The most anticipated event from the Apple world is getting everyone excited since a few days from now the giant smartphone company will unveil its new flagship iPhone 7 with features no one should miss. Before the said event, rumors and speculations about the new phone's features include different colors, water resistance, and no headphone jack.
Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at KGI Securities has just released his most recent comprehensive report ahead of the iPhone 7 launch on Wednesday. The information summarizes claims beforehand shared by others and Kuo aside from presenting numerous small pieces of information regarding the device.
According to Kuo, iPhone 7 has several upgrades and other changes, and since the collective design resembles the iPhone 6s, general users may not perceive the modifications substantially, MacRumors reported.
"We expect the iPhone 7 to come in piano black, dark black, rose gold, gold, and silver. Only the piano black model will have a glossy finish. Given high production barriers, large-storage models may have first priority in adopting piano black casing in the initial stage."
When it comes to the external performance, the report says the iPhone 7 will run on a new Apple A10 chip produced by TSMC with the use of a new process called "InFO". It seems that this chip is going to be a significant upgrade compared to Apple 9 chip visible in the iPhone 6s with utmost clock speed which hits 2.4 GHz, according to 9TO5Mac.
The new iPhone 7 will have an enhanced IPX7 water resistance which equals the original Apple Watch and makes the device befitting for showering, spatters, and even short plunges in one meter deep water.
Moreover, there will be no more headphone jack as Apple will provide both Lightning EarPods and a Lightning to 3.5 mm jack adapter. Eliminating the headphone jack enables speaker upgrade and a new sensor for enhanced Force Touch.
The new smartphone's storage capabilities include 32 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB for both iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The Plus will carry a 3 GB of DRAM to brace the dual-lens camera, whilst the iPhone 7 will proceed to have 2 GB.
The iPhone 7 Plus could be more expensive than the iPhone 6s Plus because of the dual-lens camera. The two lenses are 12 megapixels, with one lens having a wide-angle camera with larger pixel sizes, optical image stabilization, and a 6P lens. The second lens is going to be a telephoto lens with pixel sizes that are smaller having a 5P lens.
There will be a potential upgrade of proximity sensor that will transition from LED to laser which makes response quicker and for a more effective distance identification including possible movement recognition.
Kuo believes as a whole that iPhone 7 shipments will not be as many compared to iPhone 6s until the end of the year, which could arrive at 60-65 million assessed to 82 million of last year. These reports and claims will be verified once the iPhone 7 is revealed to the public on Wednesday.
