Sohn Hyung-suk, "W - Two Worlds" chief producer praised South Korean veteran actor Kim Eui-sung's role in MBC's drama series "W - Two Worlds". Kim plays a double role in the series.
In an interview with TV Report Sunday, Sohn said "Kim is doing such a great job. I appreciate that," KPopherald cited. "A producer couldn't be satisfied more."
In the series, Kim plays as an author of the webtoon "W" and as a ruthless assassin who pursues protagonist Kang Chul (Lee Jong-suk) and his wife Dr. Oh Yeon-joo (Han Hyo-joo). A source from "W" said "Giving an identity to the killer who had no face is going to turn the entire situation on its head. You can look forward to what the killer will do once he spreads his wings in the webtoon," Soompi reported.
In 2000, Kim went on a decade-long lacuna to devote himself to the film industry as a producer in Vietnam, and made a comeback as an actor in 2011. He is best known for his Korean drama series "W - Two Worlds" and his latest movie "Train to Busan," a harrowing zombie horror-thriller that follows a group of terrified passengers struggling to survive a countrywide viral outbreak while trapped on a train from Seoul to Busan.
"W - Two Worlds" is a 2016 South Korean television series which tells the story of Chul, JN Global's co-president and owner of broadcasting channel "W" who only exist in the webtoon, and Dr. Oh, a 30-year old second year resident doctor in the Thoracic Surgery of Myung Se Hospital and the daughter of the comic artist Kim who made the famous webtoon series "W."
The drama series had taken over the MBC's Wednesday and Thursday time slot at 22:00, which is previously occupied by "Lucky Romance." On early May 2016, the first script reading of the series took place.
In July 20,2016, the series "W - Two Worlds" garnered an 11.3 percent rating in Seoul National Capital Area in its first episode. On its fifth episode, the series lands a 17.8 percent rating, the highest rating yet
