English Premier League side West Bromwich Albion FC had reportedly worked out free agents Marouane Chamakh and Mohamed Sissoko as head coach Tony Pulis is looking for more reinforcements via free transfer in the aftermath of the summer window's end.
West Brom pulled off the last-minute signings of Wales stalwart Hal Robson-Kanu and former Watford defender Allan Nyom during deadline day to add to their other summer acquisitions, namely wingers Matt Phillips from Queens Park Rangers and Nacer Chadli from Tottenham Hotspur.
Still, the 58-year-old Welsh manager is said to be "rummaging through the free transfer bargain bin" as he wants to add more to his four new signings, as per Caught Offside.
Teams are not prohibited to signing new players outside of the transfer windows as long as they are free agents, meaning they are not attached to any other club.
At the moment, reports are out that Pulis is working out with 32-year-old Chamakh and 31-year-old Sissoko who were both released by their mother teams, Crystal Palace and Shanghai Greenland Shenhua respectively, this year.
Chamakh, who also plays for the Morocco national team as a forward, is a former Arsenal player and was signed by Palace in January 2013. He was given a new contract in the summer of 2014 but was released by the Eagles last June.
Sissoko is a French-born Malian defensive midfielder who had played for Liverpool, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain during his senior career. He was coming off a one-season stint with Levante when he was transferred to Shenhua before he was waived by the Chinese Super League squad in February of this year.
Meanwhile, the Mirror reported that Pulis is "set to take training" with the Baggies this week and is "expected to stay on as manager" for the newly-bought club.
West Brom recently welcomed their new Chinese owners headed by Yunyi Guokai (Shanghai) Sports Development Limited director Guochuan Lai.
There were rumors that the Chinese group might bring in their preferred head coach, but at the moment, it looks like they approve of Pulis managing the Throstles.
Pulis had been with the club since the January of 2015 and had led the team to a 14th-place finish in his first full season at the helm last term.
