Many fans are anxiously waiting for the launching of George R. R. Martin's sixth book from the epic "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. The book is entitled "The Winds of Winter" and book lovers and moviegoers alike became overwhelmed learning of the release date. But the rejoicing was put to an end after HarperCollins, Martin's U.K. publisher, said that the reported release date is inaccurate.
It was previously reported that the "The Winds of Winter" will have a release date of March 9, 2017. The false information was found in an Amazon France page.
According to the HarperCollins, U.K. publisher of Martin's books, "Nothing has been finalized regarding the publication or the date." Fans have been informed a lot of times for five years now since "A Dance With Dragons" was released in 2011. Amazon always makes placeholder pages for upcoming works and it is not the first time that this incident happened with "The Winds of Winter" which makes it common to see a placeholder date, Paste Magazine reported.
Martin's U.S. publisher, Random House, also delivered a statement contradicting Amazon's France's false release date for the "The Winds of Winter" on March 2017.
"As his publisher, we support George RR Martin as he works hard to finish "The Winds of Winter". Any on-sale dates currently listed online for the novel are incorrect. Once we have a publication date for The Winds of Winter, the world will know."
According to Entertainment Weekly, the date that Amazon France posted for the release of "The Winds of Winter" would make sense since book releases are inclined to be organized and unveiled to distributors greatly in advance. With a March launch, the new novel would be placed immediately before "The Game of Thrones" routinely returns to air.
Martin's earlier important statement on the issue was last January when he apologetically announced that the book will not make it just in time for "The Game of Thrones" Season 6. He said that he is not going to set another deadline for himself to come across since deadlines only stress him out and will just go back to his perspective from last March.
Now that the alleged release date for the "The Winds of Winter" has been clarified, it seems that "The Game of Throne" fans will have to wait for Martin's announcement. Either way, fans have already waited so long and are still willing to wait until the new novel is released.
