"Bones" has plotted a wedding and multiple deaths on its twelfth and final season.
Longtime fans of Booth and Brennan are in for a couple of shocking storylines when "Bones" returns for Season 12 next year. On Thursday, FOX has released the official logline of the new season via SpoilerTV-and the network is teasing that viewers might be saying goodbye to some characters. They also revealed that a couple will tie the knot in the final installment.
"The final season's 12-episode run will celebrate the inventive series and bring the storylines of Brennan, Booth and the Jeffersonian-FBI team to a close, allowing the show's loyal fans to say goodbye to these indelible characters. Over the course of the farewell season, fans will experience deaths, a wedding, epic serial killer storylines and an undercover episode," the network revealed.
In other "Bones" news, a familiar face from Brennan's past will return in Season 12. According to TV Line, the series has tapped Eddie McClintock to reprise his role as Sully, Brennan's ex in the final run. No word yet on how the character will figure into Brennan's storyline now that she's already married.
McClintock shared the news of his return on "Bones" via Twitter last week, telling his followers that he feels "so honored" to come back. In the past months, the actor recently appeared in some episodes of "Supergirl" and "Agents of SHIELD." He will be next seen on USA Network's "The Shooter," co-starring with Ryan Philippe and Shantel VanSanten.
The final season of "Bones" will air sometime in 2017 on FOX.
