The Fifty Shades Darker' teaser trailer is released with a promise of darker relationship

Universal Pictures released the official trailer of "Fifty Shades Darker" on Monday, Sept. 12. The trailer teased viewers with promise of  a darker love story between Christian and Anastasia.

One day before the official trailer, Universal Picture released its teaser poster, depicting Christian Grey putting a mask on Anastasia while she stares at the mirror.

"Fifty Shades Darker" is sequel of the first installment which was a huge success. According to Forbes, when the  movie debuted over Valentine's Day weekend in 2014, it earned $85 million over the weekend and $93m over the Presidents Day weekend. In total, "Fifty Shades of Grey" grossed $166.2 million in North America and $571 million worldwide.

The movie "Fifty Shades Darker" is also an adaptation of the novel written by British author E.L. James. In the production team, director James Foley is appointed to replace Sam Taylor-Johnson for the remaining movies - "Fifty Shades Darker" and the next installment "Fifty Shades Freed." 

Cast members Jamie Dorman and Dakota Johnson return to reprise their role as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. Other returning casts are Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford and Max Martini also return to the sequel, as reported by Variety. The movie also introduces a new controversial character, Elena Lincoln played by Kim Basinger.

In the sequel, Anastasia (Johnson) tries to forget her sexual experience with Christian (Dorman), as she begins to work as a personal asssistant to a renowned editor in a publishing company. Suddenly, Christian comes into the picture as he just recently bought the publishing company where she works. Anastasia is angry with him and his decision to involve in her job.

Soon after, Christian and Anna rekindle their relationship. This time, Anna's best friend Kate (Mumford) also comes in the spotlight through her relationship with Christian's adopted brother Elliot (Grimes).

The film promised a darker relationship, as Christian proposes new arrangement to Anna that involves Elena. "Fifty Shades Darker" will premiere on Feb. 10, 2017, while "Fifty Shades Freed" will follow on Feb. 9, 2018.
