On Jan. 11, 2016, Pia Wurtzbach shared a photo of her and Lea Salonga with her 1.1 million followers on Instagram. She added a thoughtful caption revealing that she watched the Broadway musical "Allegiance" starring the 44-year-old Filipina actress and singer Lea Salonga. The actress is well known for her lead role in the musical "Miss Saigon." Her performance earned her several prestigious award including Tony, Olivier and Theatre World Awards.
The 26-year-old beauty queen also gushed about finally watching the "Allegiance" and appreciated the performance of the Broadway actress. Pia Wurtzbach wrote on her Instagram account:

According to the Phil Star, Pia Wurtzbach was accompanied by Miss Universe staff member to the theatre. The website claims to have witnessed Pia Wurtzbach teary eyed towards the end of the show.
Elaborating on Pia Wurtzbach's visit to the Longacare theatre in New York, the website reveals that Lea Salonge was the first among the entire "Allegiance" cast to greet the Miss Universe. The two Filipina's also shared a hug and a kiss. "Miss Lea is truly world-class! I am a big fan. I still can't believe I finally met her here in NYC," Pia Wurtzbach raved about meeting Lea Salonge as quoted by the abovementioned website.
"Allegiance" also stars George Takei, Katie Rose Clarke, Michael Lee and Telly Leung. The storyline of the Broadway musical is based on personal experiences of George Takei. Set during the time of Japanese American internment of World War II, the show follows the story of Kimura family that was forced to abandon their home and relocate following the Pearl Harbor attack.
