Fans have strong faith that Gendry will be back in the upcoming series of "Game of Thrones" since he was not killed in the previous series. Joe Dempsie who played the character of Gendry was spotted catching a plane for Belfast.

It was in Season 3 when Gendry was last seen rowing to the unknown. He was Robert Baratheon's sole alive child and was able to flee Melisandre's control with Ser Davos Seaworth's aid. Making it the finale of the said season is considered to be doubtfully questionable since his role is quite significant.

But if fans would rather pay much more attention to the books of George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire", the hints are there. Adding to the speculation that Gendry's character is coming back is the fact that Dempsie is heading to Belfast, according to Time.

To recall it, Gendry and Arya became friends before Melisandre got control of him. She attempted to drive him to Dragonstone where he will become Stannis' "royal blood" sacrifice but was set free by Ser Davos. He was last seen rowing to the unknown destination.

Fans can't help but wonder why Dempsie was seen at the airport heading for Belfast, Northern Island where "The Game of Thrones" is filming. There are no known work commitments for him to visit the place anyways unless he is going to reprise his role as Gendry, Esquire reported.

Meanwhile, on the finale of Season 6, winter has finally come signaling the white walker's journey to the south wall. And it is no secret that Gendry has the skills to rework the Valyrian steel with the help of Sam. This could be the answer on how he will take his knowledge to the next level thus providing him the skill and strength to forge weapons to overthrow the white walkers.

Gendry's return could be the key to putting an end to the army of the dead and avoid Westeros' total destruction. Besides, he's still a Baratheon and has a claim to the throne.
