It was just last May when the hit Fox drama series, "Empire," ended its second installment with a cliffhanger. With the series set to return in a week, recent reports are saying that major changes could happen in the upcoming third season.
According to MNR Daily, one of the major cast members of "Empire" might leave the show in the upcoming season. Rumors are loud that it might be Taraji P. Henson, who plays the role of Cookie Lyon, an ex-wife of the drug dealer turned music producer, Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard).
The report noted that the actress was caught to be stating that she has gained a lot of offers. The publication also said that it is not a surprise that Henson has received numerous offers given the fact that she portrayed her role in "Empire" so well.
On the other note, CSN reported that Mariah Carey could be the one replacing Henson in "Empire" Season 3. The publication cited the reports that the famous singer-song writer and record producer is set to get a role in the show. It was said that Carey will play the role of Kitty, who is a superstar and not as far as Carey's real life status.
The said report also serves as a contrast on rumors that Carey will replace Henson. It cited that there are still no strong proof that would justify this rumor, and that Cookie and Kitty is going to be great friends in "Empire" Season 3.
The report also revealed that the upcoming season will feature a death scene from either Anika (Grace Gealey) or Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday). It can be recalled that during the finale episode of "Empire" Season 2, it showed Anika and Rhonda fighting on the rooftop. After that, a screaming voice was heard that seemed to be falling, but no one knew who fell from the rooftop. The report also confirmed that one character is going to die at "Empire" Season 3.
"Empire" Season 3 is set to air on Sept. 21, 2016.
