Actress Gina Torres, who portrayed Jessica Pearson in the series "Suits," announced her departure from the series last week. Recently, she revealed the reason behind the decision to leave the legal drama. Torres now joins the series "The Catch" in a recurring role.

She made an announcement after a long 60 episodes and five years of memorable performance in "Suits." Torres told that aside from the end of her contract, she had other reason to leave the series, which is to stay with her family and live in Los Angeles. While she worked for "Suits," she must travel back and forth between Los Angeles and the shooting location in Toronto.

"My contract was up, so this wasn't a power play that went terribly wrong," she told New York Times in an interview. "My personal life needed to be tended to."

Torres and her husband actor Laurence Fishburne live in LA with their 9-year old daughter Delilah. She now joins ABC's "The Catch" in a recurring role that is currently filming in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, according to Variety, "Suits" creator Aaron Kosh told that there is possibility for Torrest to return in "Suits" as guest star. Her role as recurring character in "The Catch" allows her to do that.

"The Catch" is a mystery drama series produced by ShondaLand and ABC Studios, from the executive producers Allan Heinberg, Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Julia Anne Robinson. Actress Mireille Enos, along with Peter Krause and Jacky Ido play as main characters in the series.

The series follows a pursuit of Los Angeles female private investigator Alice Vaughan (Enos) for her fiancé Benjamin Jones (Krause), who committed a fraud on her. Meanwhile an FBI agent Jules Dao (Ido) becomes suspicious of her and starts to investigate Alice.

Torres' role in the series is still a secret. Until now, neither she, nor ABC are willing to share further information. "The Catch" will return to ABC midseason.
