Girls Generation YoonA, whose real name is Im Yoona, recently dished some details about her role in tvN's "The K2." The upcoming action drama marks YoonA's return in television series since KBS 2TV's series "Prime Minister and I."
During a recent interview that aired on Sept. 15, YoonA reveals her newest role in her upcoming drama by introducing her character, Go Ahn Na, who is a hidden daughter of a prime presidential candidate Jang Se Joon. Go suffer from panic disorder due to her traumatic past and her continuous life being secluded.
The 26-year old actress revealed that "It's a new experience because it's a character I've never acted before," Soompi cited. Adding that she really wanted to try to act out the character and that she did not think another opportunity would come so easily to film with seniors she admired the most.
Just recently, a series of evocative still cuts of "The K2" actress was revealed. In the photo, we can see an anxious YoonA wearing a white long dress while standing barefoot in the street, AllKpop reported. Also, a dramatic teaser has been released wherein a hysterical YoonA screams multiple times at Ji Chang Wook's character telling him to shoot a woman.
YoonA is a member of the South Korean girl group Girls' Generation and debuted in August 2007. Prior to debuting, YoonA was introduced to the public through various appearances in music videos and commercials.
In 2007, YoonA began her acting career with a minor role in MBC's "Two Outs in the Ninth Inning." After several minor roles, YoonA landed her first leading role in KBS's drama "You Are My Destiny" as Jang Sae-byuk. Just recently, YoonA debuted in her Chinese drama "God of War, Zhao Yun" which recorded more than 10 billion hits through various Chinese online videos sites, marking her popularity in China.
"The K2" is an upcoming South Korean television drama starring Ji, YoonA, Song Yoon-A and Cho Seong-Ha. The series is set to release on Sept. 23 at 8:00 p.m Korea Standard Time on tvN.
