The latest trailer of "Shin Godzilla" has been released for the United States and Canadian audience and it offers a different look compared to the 2014 "Godzilla." The iconic giant monster Godzilla is back and he's returning to his roots as he stomps his way to different Japanese cities.

The trailer doesn't offer much about the look of Godzilla himself as it focuses on the people around it. Hitflix reports that the latest trailer focuses on the effect of the monster as people scramble for safety while the government looks for ways to neutralize the giant before it completely destroys the country. Japanese military is also in the scene as they use their massive firepower and try to stop Godzilla on his tracks.

The trailer also feature found footage shots where people themselves trying to survive the panic and the destruction. It's mayhem as people go underground and panic combined with the sound of rumbling noises above ground only makes the situation worse. A part of Godzilla is only shown and his massive size is only in full display at the end of the trailer.

Aside from the upcoming previews on what could happen in the coming film, the trailer also features something for fans of the long running monster movie series. The original score of the first "Godzilla" released in 1954 is used and fans of the film series will definitely identify the sound as it signals the return of the monster to its original country.

"Shin Godzilla" was already screened in Japan and it became a box office hit last July according to Anime News Network. Notably, the film was the most commercially successful release of director Hideake Anno. Before "Shin Godzilla," Anno is known for directing "Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo." The film will be screened in select theaters in Canada and the US on October 11-18.

Because of the success of the film in Japan the director, along with the actors involved in the film have expressed their interest in working again for the sequel. TOHO, however, has yet to officially announce the sequel of the film.
