"Kingdom Hearts" has made its breakthrough in gaming history by surprising gamers with its combination of franchises, Disney and Square Enix. Now, fans have been eagerly waiting for the third title's release even with the spin-offs flying around since the second game on 2005. Now with announcements of the third game being in development, there are fans who look forward to this, yet there are also those who think "Kingdom Hearts" have lost its flavor.
Fans have already complained about the third game's title being long overdue for a release. Square Enix has already announced earlier on 2013 about "Kingdom Hearts 3," but hasn't been clear on any release dates, according to Morning Ledger. There have been teasers that have excited fans back then, such as bringing in the world of Disney's "Tangled" and making Kairi and Master Eraqus playable. The question is: when will gamers finally get their hands on the game?
It already has been more than a decade since "Kingdom Hearts 2" and fans have already been getting frustrated with Square Enix. Some of them already expressed their doubts and disappointments in the franchise, so possible reception on the third game's release might not be favorable to the company.
YIBADA also reports that "Kingdom Hearts 3" might even come out at a later date. This is possibly due to the expansion "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" being released on January 2017 instead of December this year.
Besides tirelessly waiting on the third game, fans also expressed their doubt and disappointment on the fact Square Enix keeps on releasing spin-offs to seemingly "distract" them. And, to add to that, they feel that they are obliged to play "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" to fully enjoy the world and storyline of "Kingdom Hearts 3."
However, there are still some fans who eagerly wait for the possible conclusion of the series, hoping for a more "fixed" story plot along with better graphics and gameplay features.
With "Kingdom Hearts 3" still in progress without a release date, "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" is still up for release next year, Jan. 12 for Japan and Jan. 24 for North America.
