'Empress Ki' actor Jin Yi Han has an upcoming new drama on MBC. In line with this, the actor wishes to change his screen name when his new drama begins.
On Sept. 23, the actor's label Will Entertainment revealed Jin's wish to change his screen name. "Jin, with the start of his new MBC drama 'Golden Pouch,' will go by the name Kim Ji Han. He will use his name change to return to the basics in acting and build up his passion for acting, so please cheer him on," AllKpop reported.
It was previously reported that "Empress Ki" co-stars and Ha Ji Won have been rumored dating. In an interview with TV Report, Jin clarified the rumor stating, "I was surprised too. I don't know why that went up there." Jin was referring to the search words "Jin Yi Han Ha Ji Won lover" that circulated online, Soompi reported.
Jin added that their relationship was nothing but one between same age friends. Adding, that he and the 38-year old actress talked a lot in the set about their scenes which make people think there is something going on between them. However, after the film wrapped up, it was reported that the two keep their closeness through Kakao Talk, asking how each one is doing.
It is worth noting that the two actors had a student-teacher relationship in the historical drama "Empress Ki" playing as "Tal Tal" and Ki Seung Nyang." The drama tells about the Goryeo-born woman who gained power regardless of the curtailment of the era's social system, and later marries a Toghon Temur to become an empress of the Yuan dynasty.
Jin's upcoming drama "Golden Pouch" is set to air in November after "Working Mom, Parenting Daddy."
