Just recently, singer-songwritter Jung Joon Young has been accused for sexually assaulting a woman. The woman who filed the report is believed to be Jung's former girlfriend.
On Sept. 23, Jung's agency, C9 entertainment released a statement stating "He was acquitted and the situation wrapped up. The woman was a former girlfriend of Jung and Jung is personally taken aback at this," AllKpop quoted. Stressing that it was just a simple incident that happened a few months ago.
C9 revealed that the incident happened last summer, when Jung and his ex-girlfriend had a small misunderstanding which then the ex-girlfriend impulsively reported as sexual assault. Adding that the case is expected to be wrapped up by the prosecution after it found Jung innocent.
The agency also expressed that they are enormously disappointed that the news source which reported the case did not find out the exact details before they reported it and instead it used provocative words such as "sexual assault." C9 now asks the media to show restraint in publishing theoretical reports regarding the issue, Soompi reported.
In fact a representative from C9 revealed that Jung and the alleged victim are still friends and even went out together last week. It is worth noting that that the two briefly dated in the past.
Netizens even believed that Jung leave a comment under the comment section of the exclusive report. The ID "poke****" leave "lol me?" comment and netizens have been claiming that it was Jung who wrote the comment since Jung is known for using the ID "poketchu." Local news media Sports Seoul was the first one to report the issue.
Jung first gained recognition in Mnet's reality television talent show "Superstar K4" placing third after the show wrapped up. The singer debuted in October 2013 with the release of his album "1st Mini Album."
