"Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" has just released its first story downloadable content called "System Rift." The DLC will include a new location and reintroduce a familiar character from the previous game.
Lead writer Avi Winkler explained in the blog for PlayStation that players will meet Francis Pritchard once again in "System Rift." Being a friend of the protagonist Adam Jensen and former colleague in Sarif Industries, Francis will be adding spice to the game with the "interesting dynamic" in the relationship of the two, with "new colorful banter" between the both of them.
Winkler also added that fans who enjoyed "Breach," the game mode introduced in the latest title, will get to finally personally meet ShadowChild and go through the origins of the game mode itself.
In addition, the Palisade Bank Corporation's Blade facility will be an added stealth mission for players. The facility is reported to contain "new secrets and details about the bank's founders."
The lead level designer Ayrald Anneron briefs about the level, with the starting point being in the building's plaza. From that point on, players are tasked to find ways, such as secrets, items, and alternate pathways, to gain access into the facility. Anneron also mentioned about "new security features" in the mission, but encouraged the players to play the game itself to find out what they are.
Gamespot also mentions the DLC that includes a patch that addresses and fixes numerous issues and a DirectX 12 support for PC users. Those who own a Steam account can open their Steam Library, right click on "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided," select Properties, head over to the Betas tab, and click "dx12_preview" from the dropdown menu.
"Deus Ex: Mankind Divided's System Rift" can be purchased now at $10 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It is also part of a $30 season pass that includes a second story DLC called Criminal Past slated to be released next year.
