"Luke Cage" showrunner Cheo Hodari said in an interview hinted that bringing "Heroes for Hire" might be an idea if the series gets Season 2.

Hodari confirmed that Cage and Rand won't be reuniting in Season 1. However, he did not rule out that the character will appear in "Luke Cage" Season 2 in case it gets renewed, Comic Book reported.

In the comic books, "Heroes for Hire" a small team of superheroes that offered a full line of professional investigation and protection services. The group is founded by Daniel Rand a.k.a Iron Fist and Luke Cage.

He went to say that they did not want to treat the upcoming series as a one-off and said that he already has a few ideas if Netflix decides to renew it. Asked about the possibility of bringing the "Heroes for Hire" storyline into the fold:

"In terms of Luke Cage, Netflix has to order a second season first... We're not treating [the show] as a one-off, and I'm confident people will dig the show, but, trust me, like season 2, I've got a few ideas," Hodari told Decider.

He went to say that "Heroes for Hire" is off the table in Season 1 because the series will have to establish the evolution of Cage as a superhero.

"Now in my mind - we don't go into Heroes for Hire in Season One of Luke Cage - Luke Cage Season One is ultimately about the evolution of a hero. I think what's appealing about Luke is the fact that he's just somebody who's just your normal, average guy. He presents himself that way. He's not pretentious, but then at the same time, feels a responsibility to kind of push forward,"

"Luke Cage" Season 1 will arrive on September 30, 2016 on Netflix. It is part of "The Defenders" which will tie up other Marvel properties on the streaming network including "Daredevil," "Jessica Jones," and "Iron Fist."
