"How I Met Your Mother," the hit CBS sitcom which starred Josh Radnor, might be getting a potential spinoff series.
Actress Alyson Hannigan, who played Lily, recently revealed to Wetpaint that she's been discussing a possible offshoot series for "How I Met Your Mother" with former co-star and onscreen husband, Jason Segel. The actress previewed that they plan to feature their characters, Lily and Marshal on the spinoff, picking up ten years later following the events from Season 9's series finale.
"It wasn't even really about Marshall and Lily - he and I just love working together," Hannigan told the publication.
"So we said we'd do another sitcom. I think it would be called Out By Lunch because he and I work so fast we always have days when we're done by lunch."
"How I Met Your Mother" debuted in the fall of 2015 on CBS. It followed the story of Ted and his adventures in finding "The Mother" of his children. The series was a huge hit for the network, receiving positive reviews from fans and critics alike.
However, the series finale which aired in March 2014 has become a disappointment for longtime fans. The show's co-creator Craig Thomas, took to Twitter to address the backlash.
"We wrote a comedy with dramatic elements till the very end," he said.
"Thanks for taking that ride with us."
