Girls Generation member Tiffany Hwang is under fire again with her latest activity on her Instagram account. Previously, the 27-year old singer gained a lot of attention from angry Netizens regarding her post on Korea's National Liberation Day.
Following her "rising sun" flag post controversy last August, Tiffany has been taking a break from any social networking sites to reflect about her actions on the said controversy. However, despite being a time of reflection, Tiffany took to Instagram a change on her profile photo.
Following the action, netizens have expressed their disappointments through comments, saying, "Honestly why... it's even more frustrating because I used to liked her, she should really not," "Is quitting SNS really that hard... is it really that difficult to reflect just a little longer? It's only been like a month," AllKpop reported. Adding that the singer is not really reflecting on her actions and her apology is probably not sincere.
It is worth noting that during Korea's National Liberation Day, a celebration of Independence freedom from the Japanese Imperial colonial rule, Tiffany posted a photo with a Japanese flag and a sticker with a "rising sun" design in one of her SNS account. With this, netizens were enraged and even asked Tiffany's withdrawal on the show "Sister's Slam Dunk," Soompi reported.
After the viewers urged the show to remove Tiffany stating that her continued involvement would be inappropriate, representatives of the program later withdrew Tiffany as a permanent cast member. In response to the controversy, Tiffany posted a hand written apology on her Instagram account. However, it was not properly received by the Korean public.
On Aug. 26, she uploaded on her account, a second, more detailed apology letter regarding the issue. In the letter, Tiffany apologizes for upsetting so many fans and promised to be more careful of her actions next time and assured that nothing like that would ever happen again.
