Radhika Apte and Surveen Chawla's controversial movie "Parched" has again landed into trouble.
As per media reports, members of Rabari community from Gujarat are offended by the content of the movie, and they are demanding an immediate ban on it. Director Leena Yadav claimed that her husband and producer of the movie Aseem Bajaj has been getting threat calls since the movie's release.
"They have been calling my husband, giving life threats to us. We have been getting obnoxious calls, non-stop saying You don't know what we can do to you," Hindustan Times newspaper quoted Yadav as saying. "Considering the situation right now that we have around us, as a filmmaker I feel scared to even name a character in my film. It is really scary," she added. Yadav and her husband have lodged a complaint with Mumbai Police.
"Parched" has been in the news recently after a sex scene between Apte and her co-actor Adil Hussain leaked on the internet. Apart from Apte, the female centric hard hitting movie also stars Tannishtha Chatterjee, Surveen Chawla, Sayani Gupta and Lehar Khan lead roles.
"Parched," which also stars Sayani Gupta, Lehar Khan and Tannishtha Chatterjee in key roles, was released in India last week with 'Adults Only' certificate and a blurred bare breast scene, DNA India reported.
Despite the rave reviews, the Ajay Devgn produced film is doing average business on box office, and is expected to perform well in coming weeks due to mouth publicity. Check out video songs and footages from the "Parched" movie below:
