South Korean boy group 2PM have been recently invited to the music program “You Hee Yeol's Sketchbook”. During the show, the band shared how they were labeled as the “Beastly Idols.”
According to 2PM, it was singer Park Jin Young, the head of their talent management agency JYP Entertainment, who first told them that they are like beats, Soompi reported. The group added that the label has also something to do with their member Taecyeon’s (also known as “Rip Taecyeon”) who loves to tear his outfits during their performances.
Aside from sharing some details about their band, 2PM also performed and promoted their comeback single “Promise”. In fact, their explosive performance received a positive response from the audience.
2PM has recently made their return to the entertainment industry with their latest album “Gentlemen's Game”. Most of the songs on the new record are written and produced by group members themselves. Meanwhile, the title track was done by Taecyeon.
“Of all the songs that Taecyeon has made so far, this one felt the most polished,” group member Jun.K stated as quoted by Soompi.
2PM started its entertainment career in 2008 with their debut single "10 Jeom Manjeome 10 Jeom". It is currently made up of 6 members including Jun. K, Nichkhun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung, Junho, and Chansung.
The group is best known for its songs "Again & Again," “Only You" and "I Will Give You My Life." They also won several awards in prestigious award-giving bodies including the Asia Song Festival, Seoul Music Awards, and Nickelodeon Korea Kids' Choice Awards.
