The Sacramento Kings' disgruntled forward Rudy Gay could join the Miami Heat in free-agency next summer as Chris Bosh's potential replacement, according to recent NBA rumors.

Gay, who turned 30 last August, had been the subject of several offseason reports with regards to his desire to leave the Kings due to rumored "instability", especially for league veterans such as himself. He had specifically cited the situations of the Los Angeles Clippers' Paul Pierce and Jamal Crawford as the kind of position he wants to be in at the moment and he said that Sacramento is not providing that for him right now.

Aside from publicly criticizing the Kings' organization, he also disclosed that he will not re-sign with Sacramento when he becomes an unrestricted free agent at the end of the upcoming season as he wants to join another squad next summer.

With these developments, the Kings are said to be keen on finding a potential trade partner to deal Gay than to let him go for nothing in July 2017.

However, these potential teams are limited as there seemed to be no one wanting to swap their assets for Gay at this point and would likely just wait until his contract expires.

Bleacher Report indicated that "one team that keeps coming up" as Gay's potential destination next summer is the Heat.

Miami also has problems of its own when it comes to relationships to its own players as the Heat management and two-time NBA champion Chris Bosh are reportedly at odds about the team's decision to end his Heat career.

Bosh was diagnosed with a blood-clotting condition two years ago which had led to him being ruled out midway in both 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 seasons. He told Miami that his personal doctors have allowed him to play even while taking a blood-thinning medication, but the team and its doctors have not approved it.

Recently, team president Pat Riley announced that this is the end of Bosh's career as a Heat player, but it would be his call if he wants to resume it elsewhere.

With Bosh out, Miami is expected to search for an outside shooting big man and Gay seem to fit the bill as the former Connecticut standout also expressed his desire to join the squad.

Sportsrageous reported that the Heat plans to surround Hassan Whiteside with outside shooters and Gay is one of their primary targets next summer.
