Five new teasers were released for the "Jack Reacher 2" movie titled "Never Go Back" featuring Tom Cruise in the title role, showing enemies the different ways to inflict pain as the film hits theaters on Oct. 21.

According to News Thrive, the five teasers show that a gun is no match for Jack Reacher's fists, and he also proves that a saltshaker can be a deadly weapon. Jack Reacher also makes it sure that he remembers good manners. So when he beats someone up in an airplane bathroom, he politely tells a stranger that his victim is not feeling well. In another clip, Reacher surprises an enemy and threatens to rip his arm off and beat him to death with it.

"Never Go Back" is directed by Edward Zwick, who previously worked with Cruise in 2003's "The Last Samurai". The film also features "Avengers" star Cobie Smulders. It is based on the 18th of Lee Child's bestselling novels, 2013's "Never Go Back." As of writing, there are already 20 Reacher novels released from the prolific writer.

Zwick, in an interview with Joblo, explained that he would refrain from copying the formula of the first film. "It's going to be a very different movie than the last one," he said.

"Because there is a nice sort of anthology possibility to a continuing character like that, it's a whole different world--a different set of circumstances that he finds himself in. So it will be a different movie and I hope a standalone movie," Zwick said when asked whether or not the new Jack Reacher film will be darker or retain some of the humor from the original.

In Lee Child's novels, Jack Reacher is a former Major in the United States Army Military Police Corps. Reacher quit at age 36, and roams the United States taking odd jobs and investigating suspicious and frequently dangerous situations.

In an interview with the author by Writers Write, Lee Child views Jack Reacher as a happy-go-lucky guy, has quirks and problems, but he does not know he has got them. Hence, no tedious self-pity. He is smart and strong, an introvert, but any anguish he suffers is caused by others.
