The Resident Evil film franchise is finally wrapping up its run after one last sequel titled 'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter'. While most of the films under the franchise are trying to have a different image from the last, it is said that the final movie will be more unique than all of its predecessors. The final installment of the franchise will focus more on the story of Milla Jovovich's character, Alice, instead of the usual action flick.
Writer and director of almost all Resident Evil Films, Paul W.S Anderson, said that "It's been an incredible ride" and "we wouldn't be here without the fans", in a New York Comic-Con panel.
While the movies throughout these years has derailed a bit from the mythology of the story, the last sequel will actually delve back into the roots of Jovovich's character. Not only that, but, they will also go back to Racoon City, according to an article from Cinemablend. They will be tying up loose ends of the plots from all of the films and answer the questions to clear out the story so that it could give a proper send-off to the franchise. The film will go back to its horror and scary atmosphere as it should be for the past films. Making the final chapter to go back to where it all started is probably a good idea as to the first few films of the franchise was actually the better ones in terms of story.
In an interview with Collider, Anderson said that " I mean, the most important thing is I mean obviously it's a return, physically it's a return to Raccoon City and it's a journey back to where the franchise began, back to the hive. I think more importantly it's a journey of discovery for Milla's character, Alice.
