As part of her job as Miss Universe 2015, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach has been doing interviews with TV shows and radio programs. On Jan. 8, the Filipino beauty queen joined Sway Calloway and his co-hosts in the Sirius Satellite Radio show "Sway in the Morning."
During the "Sway in the Morning," Wurtzbach talked about the things Filipinos love aside from beauty pageants. She revealed that Filipinos love boxing, basketball and singing, particularly with karaoke.
As Wurtzbach pointed out, Filipinos enjoy singing whether or not they really are good at it. During her "Sway in the Morning" interview, Calloway asked the Filipino beauty queen to sing karaoke during the radio program.
Miss Universe 2015 chose to sing Britney Spears' hit song "...Baby One More Time," which is from her debut studio album of the same name. The song was released on Oct. 23, 1998 while the album was released by JIVE Records on Jan. 12, 1999.
In another interview with Inquirer, Wurtzbach pointed out that Miss Universe may not be tough but the training in the Philippines is tough. Her fellow Filipinos who are known internationally are boxing champ Manny Pacquiao and "Glee" alum Charice Pempengco.
Wurtzbach has yet to personally meet Spears, who initially wanted to join the female pop group Innosense. Before the release of the "...Baby One More Time" album, Spears' mother asked for entertainment lawyer Larry Rudolph's opinion and sent him a tape of Spears singing over a karaoke song of the late Whitney Houston and the rest is history.
In other news, a gay high school student took to Twitter on Dec. 27, 2015, to ask Spears to be his date to his upcoming prom this spring. The teen has seen the "...Baby One More Time" singer perform eight times, three of which are visits to her Las Vegas residency.
Hey @britneyspears if I said I Wanna Go to prom 2016 with you, would you Hold It Against Me?
