Rumor mills speculate that the iPad Air 3 could still be released in 2016. This is the news that is now circulating despite the earlier rumors that it might happen in 2017.
They say that the iPad Air 3 might not be released earlier than March 2017. Thus, this makes the release of iPad Air 3 in 2016 possible, iTech Post reported.
The announcement of iPad Air 1 happened on Oct. 22, 2013, while it was released at the start of November of that year. The iPad 2 was unveiled to the press on Oct. 16, 2014. People were expecting that the Apple's iPad Air 3's release date would be in October 2015 but it did not materialize.
There was a decline of the release of new devices from Apple. That is because people preferred buying phablets, with their size conveniently in between the size of a tablet and a phone.
If Apple is following the trend of the previous iPad Air's release, the iPad Air 3 could be launched before the end of October 2016. However, if this will not materialize, techies believe it would happen in November or December of this year, MacWorld reported.
Many still doubt if indeed the iPad Air 3's release date would be in 2016, as it may be unveiled alongside the new iPad Pro 2 and with the alleged iPad Pro Mini in the early part of 2017.

The iPad Air 3 will have a thinner streamlined design compared to its predecessors. There are also rumors saying that because the chassis is much thinner, the battery capacity will be lower. These shall be taken with a grain of salt as these are speculations.
With the iPad Air 3, there would be more colors to choose from. They are gold, silver, space grey and rose gold.
The iPad Air 3 would be similar to new iPad Pro. There would be Apple Pencil support, four-speaker audio system, plus more.
It is possible that Apple will stick to its formula, having a 9.7 inch screen with a 2048 X 1536 resolution. It means it would have a 264 pixel density. The good news is Apple will have an upgrade with a new processor which is A10, something that powers the iPhone 7.
Moreover, one of the new iPad Air 3's specs is the Touch ID. The device will come with a fingerprint scanner that would be integrated in the home button.
What could be its price? The iPad Air will cost at a starting price of $599.
