It has been confirmed that "The Legend of the Blue Sea" starring Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun will hit television screens on Nov. 16. The cast of the highly anticipated SBS drama sat down for a script reading last week, according to photos released by the network.

The cast sat down for their first table reading, which took place on Oct. 8 in Seoul, after the stars wrapped up filming overseas, according to Soompi. The reading lasted for a duration of three hours, during which the first four episodes of the series were covered.

"We held the table read two months after we began filming because we were unable to get the whole cast together, due to their busy schedules," a member of the production staff was quoted as saying by KPop Herald. "Fortunately, the chemistry was really good when we finally did."

"The Legend of the Blue Sea" started filming in August at Goesan, North Chungcheong Province. Later that month, the show's cast and crew moved to the island of Palau to shoot underwater scenes for the upcoming drama before heading to Spain in September, where the exotic coast sequences were shot.

Written by Park Ji-eun of "Mu Love From the Star" fame, "The Legend of the Blue Sea" is inspired by a Josean-era tale about a fisherman who captures and releases a mermaid. The romantic drama follows the love story between Lee and Jun in two different timelines; one during the Joseon era and one set in modern-day Korea.

Lee plays the son of a noble family in the Joseon era and a conman in the present-day timeline. Meanwhile, Jun plays the role of the last mermaid, who ends up in today's Seoul.

"The Legend of the Blue Sea" will air on Nov. 16, replacing the slot previously held by "Jealousy Incarnate" on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
