In its recent report, Bollywood Life claims that the "Comedy Night with Kapil" finale did not air on its scheduled timing because of some issues between the show host Kapil Sharma and the channel. It is said that the comedian even posted a message on Twitter requesting Colors to air the finale for it is their way to express gratitude to the fans.
Later, the publication was able to speak to Sharma's co-star Sunil Grover, who is known for his "Comedy Nights with Kapil" character Guthi. The actor revealed that the finale has been rescheduled and will be airing next Sunday at 10:00 pm.
In its final episode, the show will bring "Airlift" stars "Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur to the stage. According to India.com, fans can expect to see an emotional finale. The website reports that a leaked video of the much-awaited episode shows Sharma, Grover, Ali Asgar, Kiku Sharda, Sumona Chakravarthi and others are crying as they say goodbye.
"Comedy Nights with Kapil" first aired on June 22, 2013. Soon, it became one of the highest rated TV shows of India. Sharma was awarded with several awards including the Entertainer of the Year award at CNN-IBN Indian of the Year awards.
After three years, the show will now come to an end and this has not only disappointed its fans but also some big Bollywood stars who have appeared on the show time and again.
In an interview during the calendar launch of photographer Dabboo Ratnani, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his dismay. "He's a very talented man, one of the best stand-up comics we have. Apart from that, the film that he has done 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon', he's done very good work in it. Hope he does something else soon so that we all can be entertained," Khan said as quoted by First Post.
Actor Farhan Akhtar also expressed his thoughts about "Comedy Nights with Kapil" coming to an end. "I do believe that it is coming to an end. I think Kapil is a very talented guy. He has plans for himself in his life. I wish him all the best. He's a very sweet boy and I just hope that whatever he plans for himself, he can achieve that," Akhtar said.
