Former One Direction member has a lot of offers coming his way when it comes to collaboration on working on different and big fashion lines. He is currently working on a shoe line for Giuseppe Zanotti and just been introduced as the collaborating designer of a clothing line for Versus Versace.
Zayn Malik is working on a line of of Suede desert boots for Italian designer footwear Giuseppe Zanotti, which is set out to be released in public come January 2017 but girlfriend supermodel Gigi Hadid has already been seen sporting at the airport. Now he is reportedly the first rock star fashion designer of a capsule collection for Versace's Versus called Zayn X Versus.
While Donatella Versace admitted that she was never a fan of One Direction's music, she nevertheless acknowledges Malik's huge fan base on social media with 35 million followers on both Twitter and Instagram. Versace says she's thrilled to be working with Zayn calling him one of the most exciting personalities in the world.
"I thought it would be fantastic to collaborate on a new Versus collection together," said Donatella in a press release as reported by The New York Times. Ms. Versace further expressed her excitement saying this collaboration isn't just a breathing season for the fashion brand - it marks the beginning of a whole new era.
The 23-year-old R&B singer is not only going to co-design the line, he is also going to be the face of it. While the men and women clothing collection will be available to the public in May 2017, the advertising campaigns will premiere on February featuring the former boy band member who is setting out to build his solo reputation and seems to be doing a good job.
Malik is thrilled with this new venture saying he's always wanted to design clothes and there's no other brand he'd wanted to design for other than that of Versace's Versus. "The bonus is that I get to collaborate with Donatella, whom I love and admire. I know we'll create something amazing," Malik said in an interview as Vogue reported.
Both Zayn Malik and girlfriend Gigi Hadid are setting the fashion world on fire; slowly becoming fashion royalties as they both have major fashion houses they are designing for. In addition, Malik is also heading for TV for a show inspired by his time with One Direction.
