The upcoming seventh season of "American Horror Story" will have a connection with Season 4's Freak Show, creator/ executive producer Ryan Murphy has revealed. The showrunner also spilled that Taissa Farmiga and Finn Wittrock will be appearing in an upcoming episode of Season 6's Roanoke.
In a conference call with reporters on Tuesday, Murphy gave away a new update about American Horror Story Season 7. According to the uber-producer, the new installment will revisit several characters from Freak Show. Although Murphy did not drop any names, he did confirm that the new installment will no longer be kept under wraps for months.
"We're going to announce [the premise] in the spring," Murphy told TV Line.
"We're not doing a secrecy thing, but [next season] does have a big hook behind it."
The news comes ahead of Wednesday's episode of American Horror Story, which according to Murphy will reveal a huge, shocking twist. Titled "Chapter 6," the game-changing hour is expected unlock the beginning of Roanoke's second act.
"You realize what you've been watching with some of the characters is not [who] they are," the showrunner said.
"[The actors] had to do a mad scramble to find new voices and accents. It is a big turn. It's the biggest plot twist we've ever done with the show.
American Horror Story Season 6 will also feature the return of Taissa Farmiga and Finn Wittrock later this season, Entertainment Weekly has learned. Details on their character descriptions were not revealed.
