The American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy has just confirmed that Lady Gaga's "The Witch" character is the First Supreme described in Season 3's "Coven".
Lady Gaga's character in "American Horror Story: My Roanoke Nightmare" is very powerful. She was the one who gave Thomasyn The Butcher (Kathy Bates) the evil power to destroy the Roanoke colony. Ryan Murphy said Lady Gaga is in fact the First Supreme, which could be traced back to "American Horror Story: Coven," Teen Vogue reported.
Not only that, Murphy also revealed that AHS will return to the Coven to explore the origin of the First Supreme, which only means Lady Gaga will be seen in the upcoming season to reprise her wood witch character. "We're going to do a return to the 'Coven' season in some capacity," Murphy said as Huffington Post reported.
The story of the Supreme Witch was first detailed in "Coven" where Fiona Goode (Jessica Lange), the current Supreme, grows weaker as a younger witch who is about to take over the role of being Supreme grows stronger. It was said the Coven are descendants of the Salem witch before the end of the 17th century. It turns out that they have been around way before that.
The Roanoke Colony was erased in the 16th century so it's safe to assume that the witches, or at least the Supreme Witch, have been around earlier than the colony.
Murphy said it was difficult to have Mother Monster by due to the release of her new album. But the creator is set to have her on the show again for her role as The Witch because her character is "very important" to the mythology of the entire show.
So far the creator of the show has remained true to his promise that Season 6 will be filled with the mythology of the entire AHS franchise. The story of The Lost Colony of Roanoke was retold by the Millers and Lee. It was said that over 100 souls vanished on the face of the earth and left nothing behind but the word 'Croatoan' carved on a tree. It turns out Lady Gaga was the reason why this happened.
More of this will be explored on Season 7 of American Horror Story.
