With the "Red Dead Redemption 2" hype going on, RockStar Games will be bringing back the previous game from 2010 to be playable in the PlayStation 4 and even PC. Well, sort of.
According to the information that Sony shared in its blog post, 2010's "Red Dead Redemption" will be played in its PlayStation 3 version for the PlayStation 4 and PC if gamers get to sign up to subscribe in Sony's streaming service PlayStation Now. Although the game will be in the streaming catalog "soon," it is still unknown when the game will be release and what the price will be to rent or buy.
This streaming service of Sony is actually backwards compatible that will allow gamers to play games from the previous PlayStation devices on the PlayStation 4 and other supported platforms, like PC. However, instead of being an actual port for the PC, this is actually the PlayStation 3 version that this being streamed on the PC.
Gamespot also reports that "Red Dead Redemption" is already playable on Microsoft's Xbox One via backwards compatibility. It is also mentioned that if players already bought the game previously on the Xbox 360, they won't have to pay it again for the Xbox One. Additionally, there have been reports that the game plays better on Microsoft's latest console than on the Xbox 360.
In other news, the first "Red Dead Redemption 2" trailer has just been released today, featuring the game's vast open world, however not yet really revealing any story details. The game is set for release in fall 2017 for PS4 and Xbox One.
