‘Train to Busan’ actor Gong Yoo: Still cuts on upcoming drama the ‘Goblin’ revealed

tvN is up for another drama series that will surely captivate the heart of the viewers. Stills of the upcoming drama the "Goblin" has been revealed which stars the 37-year old actor, Gong Yoo.

"The Lonely and Brilliant - Goblin" or "Goblin" for short, is an upcoming fantasy romance drama in tvN. The drama depicts the lives of an immortal goblin (Gong) who wants to die, a grim reaper with memory loss and a girl who was supposed to have died and claims to be the goblin's bride, AllKpop reported.

To best depict himself as the "Goblin" named Kim Shin, Goo took part in analyzing each outfit, accessories, and props to be used in the drama. The act raised suspense on how his acting will pull through with his new role.

On Aug. 30, the first script reading for the drama was held at Nuri Dream Square in Sangam-dong, Seoul, South Korea. Also in the drama are actor Lee Dong Wook who plays the role of a grim reaper, actress Kim Go Eun as a high school student who fell in love with the goblin or the "goblin's wife" and Yoo In Na, a bright and attractive chicken shop owner loved by all men.

Writer of the enormously successful series "The Heirs" and "Descendants of the Sun," Kim Eun Sook also wrote the script for the upcoming drama. PD Lee Eun Bok who also directed the well-loved drama series "Descendants of the Sun" is also the director of the series, isplus reported.

 "Goblin" is set to air starting Dec. 2 on tvN every Fridays and Saturdays and will replace tvN's current drama "The K2." "The K2" is a story about a former soldier for hire, set to protect the president's wife and his secret daughter.

Based on AGB Nielsen, the Oct. 15 episode of "The K2" garnered a 5.4 percent rating in South Korea, showing a 2.2 percent increase from its first episode. The drama is also broadcast internationally in Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan.
