A high-profile matchup between the predicted Western Conference finalists of the 2016-2017 NBA Season, the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors, is scheduled on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.

Start Time and Streaming Info

The game starts at 10:30 p.m. ET as the final game of the opening day's triple-header. It can be viewed live online thru the NBA League Pass.

Preview

San Antonio is heading into a new beginning as the team enters the season without living legend Tim Duncan for the first time in 19 years.

In place of who is considered as the greatest power forward of all-time are veterans LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol. Aldridge joined the team last summer and played the last season with Duncan while Gasol was recently signed via free-agency in July.

Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili are back for another season and are now the remaining parts of the Spurs' legendary Big Three that brought them four NBA titles.

However, head coach Gregg Popovich's main man is rising star Kawhi Leonard, who is currently considered as one of the best two-way players in the NBA and will definitely be an MVP candidate this season.

The Spurs are set to miss starting shooting guard Danny Green for at least three weeks after suffering a thigh injury during the preseason games. It was the same injury Green suffered "during pickup games before the start of training camp", ESPN reported.

Meanwhile, the Warriors are the favorites to win the NBA championship this season, obviously because of the addition of former NBA MVP Kevin Durant to a team that already has reigning back-to-back MVP Stephen Curry.

The starting lineup of Durant, Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Zaza Pachulia is arguably the "best in NBA history", according to Sports Chat Place.

The expectations are so high for Golden State at the moment that anything less than the championship this season will be considered as an underachievement for head coach Steve Kerr's squad.

Golden State's best weapon is their excellent outside shooting, which would create a lot of space for the squad, making them nearly impossible to defend.

Prediction

A close win for the Warriors as they face their first real test together as a group. San Antonio expectedly makes a fight out of it until the last two or three possessions.
