"Gangnam Style" singer PSY is set to film a music video for his new track. The upcoming track is his first song for this year.
On Oct. 24, PSY's agency, YG Entertainment said in a statement that "We are progressing with plans for PSY's upcoming music video for a new song. However, there is nothing concrete regarding his comeback," Soompi reported.
We can recall that last December 2015, PSY released his seventh full album "Chiljip Psy-da" with tracks such as "Daddy" and "Napal Baji." The album was released by KT Music, YG Entertainment, School Boy and Republic.
Just recently, YG Entertainment also revealed PSY's year-end concert "All Night Stand 2016." According to Yonhap News Agency, the concert will be on Dec. 23 and 24 at 11:50 p.m. at Gocheok Sky Dome in Western Seoul.
Since 2003, the 38-year old singer has made the all-night K-pop madness an annual event. Ticket sales for PSY's two-day concert will be available starting noon of Oct. 31 at http://ticket.auction.co.kr.
The internationally renowned singer debuted in 2001 with his song "Bird," and has been continually loved by the public for more than a decade now. PSY is under YG Entertainment and is reportedly one of the company's biggest act.
PSY was known internationally for his hit single "Gangnam Style," which garnered him approximately two million viewers on YouTube days after its first release. The song's refrain "Oppan Gangnam Style" was entered into "The Yale Book of Quotations" as one of the most famous quotations of 2012.
Since his debut on 2001, PSY received a number of awards and nominations as performer both in Korea and internationally. In 2012, his song "Gangnam Style" was nominated as "Best Video" on United Kingdom's music and entertainment channel "4Music," and won a "New Media Award" on American Music Awards.
And just last year, PSY won as "Star of the Year" during the 2015 CICI Korea Awards. His song "Daddy" also topped the M! Countdown last year.
