Following a report yesterday about the issue, new details have surfaced regarding the unfortunate split between 20th Century Fox and director Tim Miller. Reports have shed new light on what the "creative differences" were between actor Ryan Reynolds and the director.
Based on the reports of The Wrap, Miller laid out his preferences for the sequel to be more "stylized." Reynolds, on the other hand, still wanted to maintain the "raunchy comedy style" from the first movie.
Other factors contributing to the split was when Miller proposed to cast "Bloodline and Friday Night Lights" star Kyle Chandler as the mutant Cable for the sequel - a plan that Ryan Reynolds didn't agree with. In the end, Miller decided to ultimately leave the project because 20th Century Fox sided with the actor in numerous decisions in regards to the direction of the second movie.
Reports of this broke yesterday, revealing that the split was still "amicable" in spite of. But it was also recently revealed that the relationship of Miller and Reynolds have been "contentious" for quite some time.
There are still some details that are left hanging since the divide. Who will be the new director? When will the sequel be released? Who's going to play Cable? What's the final word on lineup of actresses that have been chosen to possibly audition in playing Domino?
Things like these happen all the time in the creative industries even outside Hollywood. Let's just hope though that awesome movies like "Deadpool 2" would still be considered an awesome movie like the first one, or even better.
