NBA News & Rumors: Derrick Rose has confident to return to his form as an NBA elite point guard

Derrick Rose returns to the court after missing several preseason games with the Knicks. He is confident that he is still able to become elite point guard in NBA, despite many doubts.

Rose is now back at the Knicks training session. In an interview with  "> ESPN, he was asked about his ability to return to become elite point guard. Rose stated his confidence that he will be able to become elite point guard again.

“It's only a matter of time until I put it together,” Rose said. “It's only a few that did it and that's doing it. So it's all about just putting it together."

However most NBA analysts and observers doubt his ability to return to peak of his game. During his tenure with Chicago Bulls, Rose is the leader that bring the Bulls to the elite level. In seven season with Chicago Bulls, he averaged 19.7 points and 4.0 assists per game.

Rose entered the league in 2008 after one season playing in the NCAA for University of Memphis. He was selected by Chicago Bulls as first overall in the NBA Draft.

His career started well with the Bulls and he became rookie of the year in 2008, averaging 16.8 points and 6.3 assists per game. During his third year, Rose was selected as regular season MVP. But after he missed the full 2012-13 season, he was not able to return to his elite level.

New York Knicks acquired him in June 2016. But Rose was stumbled with legal case as his ex-girlfriend accused him of drugged and raped her. The court ruled Rose as not liable for the rape allegation. But the Knicks have concern about the after effect of the trial . Therefore, the Knicks medical team monitor him for stress signal as reported by  New York Post.

The Knicks lost their first regular season game against Cavaliers 88-117 on Oct. 25. It seems Rose hasn’t been able to return to his game come as an NBA elite point guard.
