Golden State Warriors has trimmed its roster into 15 players with a high expectation, as they can become an unstoppable force this season. But they begin the season with slow start, as Spurs defeated them 129-100 in the first game of the season.

The Warriors establishes its strength in a small ball movement which requires fast and agile players. Especially when Kevin Durant joined in, they were predicted to become a super team, just like the Miami Big Three in 2010.

According to Washington Post , Golden State Warriors have already been a solid team before the addition of Kevin Durant. The Warriors only replace Harrison Barnes with the former Oklahoma City Thunder’s forward. Its status to become super team is entirely different than that of Miami Heat.

Memphis Grizzlies head coach David Fizdale, who was Erik Spoelstra’s assistant coach during the formation of 2010 Miami Heat understands the difference between Miami Heat in 2010 and the 2016’s Golden State Warriors.

“The difficulty for us was the type of players we had to put together,” Fizdale said. “Dwyane and LeBron both being attacking wings, Chris Bosh had never shot a three before we got him.”

For the comparison, Durant doesn’t bring his style of play into the Warriors, just like LeBron James did in Miami. But Durant blends in with the team and contribute to the team play which prepared by the head coach Steve Kerr.

ESPN Analyst and former coach Jeff Van Gundy in an interview with USA Today said that Golden State Warriors have the legitimate chance to break their 73-9 regular season records. He said that Durant has fitted into the team and the team’s chemistry is very good.

However, Golden State Warriors started their regular season quite slowly, as they lost 100-129 against San Antonio Spurs this Tuesday, Oct. 25 in their homecourt Oracle Arena. The Warriors will play their second game against New Orleans Pelicans on Friday, Oct. 28.

Watch the formidable force of Golden State Warriors in their last preseason game against Portland Trailbazers last week on Oct. 21 in Oracle Arena as the Warriors won 107-96.
