EXO member Lay is preparing for his comeback in Chinese small screen. Tagging along for the remake is the 23-year old Ulzzang actress Chen Duling.
It was reportedly confirmed that the 25-year old singer will star the Chinese remake of the Japanese hit drama "Operation Love." Chinese actress Chen Duling, who rose to fame by winning the Chinese college student ulzzang competition will be joining Lay in the drama, as reported by Soompi. The two is scheduled to begin filming next month.
"Operation Love" depicts the story of a man who travels back in time to change his fate with his first love who is about to marry another man in the present time. In 2012, the Japanese drama has been remade into Korean drama "Operation Proposal" starring Yoo Seung Ho and Park Eun Bin.
The singer-songwriter has previously appeared on various dramas both in South Korea and in China. In 2015, Lay had a special appearance on Naver TV Cast's "EXO Next Door," and as supporting cast in the Chinese dramas "To Be A Better Man" and "The Mystic Nine."
It is worth noting that Lay's drama "The Mystic Nine" also known as "Old Nine Gates" has been a great success in China. Just this September, the drama reached up to 10 billion views on the Chinese site iQiyi
Meanwhile, Lay's agency S.M. Entertainment revealed on Wednesday a music video teaser for his upcoming EP "Lose Control," Yonhap News Agency reported. According to S.M. Entertainment, Lay will be making his solo debut in China with his first six-track EP set to be released on Friday.
Lay wrote and arranged all six tracks on his EP and were sung in Chinese. The EP will be released simultaneously in South Korea's popular music streaming sites and download providers.
Lay rose to fame after participating in the Chinese TV show "Star Academy" in 2005. And just this year, the 25-year old singer was appointed as Publicity Ambassador by the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) of Changsha and is the first celebrity to hold such title.
