Remembering the watching the woods stir in the darkness in the town of Bright Falls in the state of Washington, "Alan Wake" was one of the creepiest and most compelling title in the series. This begs the question: when will there be an "Alan Wake 2?" That's why Xbox's Phil Spencer mentions that it's all up to the developer Remedy to do something about it.
In an interview with Steve Wright (aka Stevivor), the question was tossed at Phil Spencer asking, "What it would take to see 'Alan Wake 2' on Xbox One and Windows PC?"
"How do I put this?" answered Spencer, after furrowing his brow and glancing on the ceiling. "Well, the developer [Remedy]... the developer has to want to make the game."
Spencer seemed to actually want to push for the sequel, even calling out developer Remedy out on it. While he seems really looking forward to it, back then in Spring 2015, it was revealed by the studio's creative director and head writer Sam Lake that Microsoft had no interest in the prototype it created for "Alan Wake 2," according to an earlier post in Polygon.
"They have been really supportive about Alan Wake," said the creative director. "And [now head of Xbox] Phil Spencer has been awesomely supportive when it comes to Remedy and Alan Wake along the way. We showed it to Microsoft and I guess at the time Microsoft was looking for something slightly different for their portfolio."
However, around Fall that year (2015) the game's title resurfaced. This time, it's good news as Lake confirmed that the sequel will be on the way, according to Game Informer.
Here's to hoping that we actually get a sequel.
