Japan is going to have a new "Monster Hunter" next year called "Monster XX" and is scheduled to launch on Nintendo 3DS on March 18.
The announcement was made in the interim of the Monster Hunter Nintendo Direct broadcast. The game includes the following: G-rank hard level, an unarmed new monster, returning monsters such as Barioth and Barroth, new Airship-based hub village, and new versions of Deviant monsters which include Deviant Diablos. Monster Hunter X players can transfer their saved data to the new version and will benefit Monster Hunter Stories players.
Monster Hunter XX is a continuation of Monster Hunter X that was released earlier this year in the West and was well-accepted. The new monster game will highlight two new Hunter Styles namely. new monsters and all-new area, according to Eurogamer.
These two new Hunter Styles are one that benefits players for assertively playing and another one that prefers the use of barrel bombs adding some Hunter Styles versions to Generations' Prowler hunters.
Monster Hunter XX features a total of six hunter styles and another two more compared to the original Monster Hunter. Several familiar areas will still be featured but there will a specific area for hunting with some new monsters coming in.
IGN gave Monster Hunter XX an 8/10 review, stating that it "has the appeal of a greatest hits album. This is a worthy collection, one that folds 12 years of top-notch boss fights into one big action RPG."
The latest Monster Hunter games that became successful outside its home country were Japan's G versions including Generations as a notable exclusion. The new release will be available on Nintendo 3DS for ¥5,800 plus tax for a package version and ¥5,546 plus tax for a download version.
Although the release of Monster Hunter XX is slated next year, gamers are already discussing if an HD version could be launched for Nintendo's new console.
