Sometimes when we hear news about upcoming games it's either through official announcements or leaks. This one leak in particular involves a possible sequel to the "Tomb Raider" franchise - albeit, in an unusual way.

According to Kotaku, this new title is called "Shadow of the Tomb Raider." However, the source is unexpectedly from an unusual source: someone who had his laptop opened during his commute in the subway. Reddit user Tripleh280 was the one who reported this saying the anonymous person was working on a Microsoft Powerpoint presentation that showed the title and game details. But the Redditer's picture was too blurry to make out.

It's no big surprise that Square Enix is actually going to make another sequel and it has been mentioned from a source (as they say) that "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" is indeed the name of the next title in the series.

However, a representative from Square Enix refused to comment on the matter, saying it's just "rumors and speculations," according to Gamespot.

Back then 2015, Square Enix boss Phil Rogers accidentally revealed during Gamescom about the rebootd series of "Tomb Raider" having a third title. This was also during the time he was asked about the controversy and backlash surrounding "Rise of the Tomb Raider" being exclusive only to Xbox.

"We believe first and foremost this is the right thing to do with 'Tomb Raider' right now," Rogers said about the deal with Microsoft. "What it's done for the sake of the studio and the next beat with the 'Tomb Raider' trilogy ... But the backlash is -- we've watched carefully and we believe it's the right thing to do."

In related news, Crystal Dynamics also mentioned earlier this year that they were also hiring hired Visceral Games' Ian Milham to direct the "Tomb Raider" franchise. Additionally, both Crystal Dynamics and "Thief" and "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" developer Eidos Montreal are each working on their own yet untitled IPs.
