The final season of "Bones" now has an official premiere date. Along with that new development, FOX also released the official plot details of the show's ultimate season that includes a wedding, an epic serial killer arc and more.
According to the network, the final season of "Bones" will see the return of familiar faces, 'squinterns' as well as a love interest from one of the team's past. Speaking of romance, fans will also be treated to a wedding. As to which couple from the team is expected to tie the knot, that information is still being kept under wraps.
As for casting, it was announced that Betty White and Stephen Fry will both be returning on "Bones" Season 12. White will reprise her role as Dr. Beth Mayer in the tenth episode airing on January. Fry, for his part, will return as Dr. Gordon Wyatt in the ninth episode. His return was announced by series star David Boreanaz via Twitter on Thursday:
"Thank you @stephenfry for the love and humor," Boreanaz said on his tweet.
"You are the smartest man around! Wellwe all know it's the accent real..."

As mentioned earlier, the final episodes will explore an epic serial killer storyline. Unfortunately, no details surrounding that arc have surfaced yet online. Just like every other swan song of a television series, it's pretty safe to assume that "Bones" will deliver a satisfying end to this mystery.
As for Booth and Brennan, the show's power couple has been revealed to go through a rocky stage when it comes to their marriage.
The 12-episode final season of "Bones" is slated to premiere on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 9PM on FOX.
