Surprise team Detroit Pistons (4-2) is set to face Western Conference leaders Los Angeles Clippers (5-1) at the Staples Center on Monday, Nov. 7 as the 2016-2017 NBA season continues.

Detroit is having a good start to the new season with four wins and two losses. The team has won four of their last five matches.

The Pistons are coming off a huge 103-86 win over the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night at their home court of the Palace of Auburn Hills, as per the Detroit Free Press.

Andre Drummond led the squad with a monster game of 19 points, 20 rebounds, and three blocked shots. Power forward Marcus Morris had 15 points and six boards.

The starting backcourt of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Ish Smith scored 13 and 11 points respectively and had a combined five rebounds, 10 assists, and four steals in a solid performance.

Off the bench, two players scored in double figures with forwards Jon Leuer and Stanley Johnson firing 15 and 12 points.

Detroit opened the match with a 10-0 run to establish the pace as the Pistons never relinquished the lead.

Meanwhile, the Clippers has won five of their first six games. The team's only loss so far has come against fellow Western Conference leaders Oklahoma City Thunder in their fourth game of the season.

The Clips routed title-favorites San Antonio Spurs, 116-92, on the road at the AT&T Center also last Saturday, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Blake Griffin had a personal season-high of 28 points to lead head coach Doc Rivers' men to the win. The All-Star power forward also contributed five rebounds and three assists. Starting small forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute chipped in 13 points.

Chris Paul almost had a triple-double with nine points, eight boards, and 10 assists with two steals orchestrating the team's offense. He shot poorly from the floor, though, going 4-for-11 in 29 minutes. Shooting guard JJ Redick fired 14 points, shooting 2-for-3 from beyond the arc.

Prediction

The Clippers will look to extend their winning streak to three games as they face the Pistons in this match and they are favored to do so. The momentum of their huge win over San Antonio should prepare them against Detroit.
