"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 will introduce a new villainous character named Rayna that will be played by Filipino-American actress Leslie-Anne Huff.
Here are some things you need to know about her.
5 Her mom is Filipino
Huff may have been born in the United States which makes her an American citizen, but her mom is actually a Filipina.
The actress' dad is a British national who migrated to the United States several years before Huff was born.
4 She starred in a number of Disney shows
Before landing a role on The CW's hit series, Huff first appeared in a slew of different shows on Disney channel.
When she was just a teenager, Huff also played the role of Penelope in "Sonny With a Chance."
3 Her first major role was on 'NCIS'
Huff landed her first major role on television on the hit show "NCIS." During her time on the show, the actress played the role of Hillary Lange.
2 She looks exactly like Nina Dobrev
Fans of "The Vampire Diaries" and former cast member Nina Dobrev couldn't help but notice Huff's similarities with the actress.
In fact, there have been some rumors that the producers of the show tapped Huff to star in the series now that Dobrev is no longer playing the role of Elena Gilbert.
However, during an interview with TV Line, executive producer Caroline Dries clarified that Huff was cast solely because of her acting abilities and not her resemblance with Dobrev.
"We looked at a lot of actors, and I was like, 'I think she looks exactly like Nina.' I was convinced otherwise. I actually haven't met her yet in person, though, and everyone says she doesn't look like her in person," she said.
1 Her 'TVD' character could be Elena's doppelganger
Despite Dries' explanation, some fans still believe that Huff's Rayna could be Elena's doppelganger.
According to Seventeen, there is a huge possibility that Rayna and Elena are related to each other. The concept of a doppelganger, after all, has been a huge plot twist on "The Vampire Diaries."
"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 will return to The CW on Jan. 29.
