It is a known fact that Sara Ali Khan, the daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, is going to follow her parents' footsteps and pursue a career in acting, and the 23-year-old will be making her big Bollywood debut in Zoya Akhtar's next film. Sara will reportedly romance Ranveer Singh in the coming-of-age film, which is expected to hit theaters next year.
There has been a lot of speculation about Sara's Bollywood debut recently, with reports claiming that her first Bollywood film will be alongside Tiger Shroff in "Student of the Year 2" or opposite Shahid Kapoor's brother Ishaan Khattar in Bollywood remake of "The Fault in out Stars." There was also buzz associating her with Anil Sharma's project, titled "Genius," with the filmmaker's son, Utkarsh.
A source has revealed to Bollywood Life that Sara and Ranveer will play the lead in Akhtar's upcoming film, "Gully Boy." "Both the producers, Farhan (Akhtar) and Ritesh (Sidhwani), along with Zoya, have been in talks with Sara for a while now and they are almost in the final stages of discussion. 'Gully Boys' could well be her launching pad," the source told the publication.
"Gully Boys" is a true story inspired by two rappers who hail from Mumbai's chawls; Rapper Divine and Rapper Naezy. Earlier this year, it was reported that Ranveer would be assuming the role of one of the two rappers and now there are reports stating that Sara will be playing his love interest in the film, according to Mumbai Mirror. Ranveer and Akhtar have previously worked together in the star-studded film, "Dil Dhadakne Do."
After graduating from Columbia University in the U.S., Sara is sure to make heads turn, just like step-mom Kareena Kapoor. Sara recently made an appearance at a Diwali bash hosted by the Bachchan family.
