Adam Shankman will direct the new movie, which is said to take place a decade after the end of the original movie in 2007, E! Online reported. Adams said that the team behind the new movie will put up something that is timely. The 42-year-old actress believes that the world right now could use a little "Disenchantment."
The original "Enchanted" movie by Disney was very successful, raking in a total of $340 million worldwide. According to reports, Disney has been working on the sequel since 2010. The sequel is expected to be out on theaters next summer.
The original movie was a parody of all the classic animated Disney movies. There are no concrete reports on what the sequel will be all about, but there are reports saying that it will be about Giselle questioning the happily ever after she chose. That will bring some imbalance to the lives of the people surrounding the princess both in the real world and Andalasia, the animated kingdom where Gisselle came from.
Adams said a little bit of singing, dancing, and laughing could benefit the people. Her co-star James Marsden expected that th ere will definitely be a sequel to the movie, especially considering how successful the original movie was. He even said that it would be best to reprise their roles before they reach the age of 40, because having wrinkles won't be fitting for Prince and Princess roles. However, Adams is now 42, while Marsden is now 43.
Besides Adams and Marsden, other casts from the "Enchanted" include Patrick Dempsey, Susan Sarandon, and Idina Menzel. However, there are no confirmations whether Patrick Dempsey and James Marsden will reprise their roles in the prequel. David Stem and David Weisslt wrote the new movie's prequel.
