Preview

Detroit is on a rise right now with a two-game winning run after losing three straight games. Their last game was a stunning 104-88 rout of the Oklahoma City Thunder at their home court of the Palace of Auburn Hills on Monday, as per the Detroit Free Press.

Tobias Harris led head coach Stan Van Gundy's squad with 22 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two blocks while starting center Aron Baynes scored 20 points on 8-for-13 field goal shooting with eight boards and one assist.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 17 points, three boards, and four assists while Ish Smith, who also continues to substitute for starter Reggie Jackson, chipped in 11 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

Off the bench, veteran floor general Beno Udrih contributed 10 points, four rebounds, and four assists in only 18 minutes of playing time.

Van Gundy was all praises to his players, especially to Baynes, who has ably filled-in for the injured Andre Drummond. Drummond is out with a sprained ankle and is questionable in this game versus the Knicks on Wednesday.

"As the president of the franchise, I probably shouldn't promote my own players," said Van Gundy. "But Aron is a starting center in the NBA. The only reason people don't know that is because we've got an All-Star ahead of him."

Meanwhile, New York snapped a two-game losing skid with an easy 93-77 win over the Dallas Mavericks also at their home court on Monday, the Knicks' official website reported.

Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis scored 24 points each to lead head coach Jeff Hornacek's team. Anthony also had seven rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block while Porzingis had 11 boards, one assist, and one block.

Derrick Rose struggled with foul trouble as he ended up with only three points in the match, shooting 1-for-6 from the field.

Prediction

Detroit has lost five of their six road games this season while New York has won three of their five games at home so far. A close win for the Knicks is predicted as they build on the momentum of their huge win over the Mavs.
