"Timeless," a new time-travel series starring Abigail Spencer and Goran Visjnic, will air an episode featuring America's first documented serial killer, HH Holmes.
HH Holmes, also known as "HM Howard," is an American serial killer known for taking over a Chicago pharmacy as a place where he lured his victims into an elaborate maze of death traps. His strings of murders have been recorded in 1893 during the Columbian Exposition. Three years later, Holmes was eventually captured and hanged.
At present, HH Holmes and his works will be explored in an upcoming episode of NBC's "Timeless." According to TV Line's report, the series has cast "The Newsroom" actor Joel Johnstone to give life to the nefarious serial killer.
On the show's upcoming tenth episode, Holmes' Murder Castle will play a pivotal role when the team finds themselves in Chicago 1893 during The World's Fair. The episode will also feature an appearance of a young Harry Houdini. The character, however, is yet to be cast.
In addition to his guest stint on HBO's "The Newsroom," Johnstone has also appeared on "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD," "The Fosters," "Getting On," and "Astronaut Wives Club."
Created and executive produced by Shawn Ryan and Eric Kripke, "Timeless" is a time-travel series that takes viewers into monumental periods in history each week. The series also stars Matt Lanter, Malcolm Barrett, Paterson Joseph, Sakina Jaffrey and Claudia Doumit.
Its upcoming episode, "The Space Race" will retell the events that occurred during the Apollo 11's mission to land on the moon. It airs on Monday, Nov. 28 at 10PM on NBC.
