Hallyu star Yoona of the popular girl band Girls’ Generations opened up about her improvements as an actress after her recently finished TV drama project “The K2” in an interview.
Yoona admitted that she was at first conscious of the impression people might give on her the moment she changes her projected image to the public. Furthermore, she revealed that she is scared of trying new things as it might later reflect to the name of her group.
“Even now, I don’t feel like I am completely free from the eyes of those who watch me. But I decided to tell myself that I wouldn’t worry about them and just look within myself. Isn’t it the actor’s job to try different and diverse roles?” the KPop idol said as quoted by Soompi.
She continued: “I don’t want to purposely try to break away from that label. I want to be seen as an actress naturally, and I will continue to do my best and not be scared.”
Meanwhile, Yoona has recently won the “Asia Star Award” at the prestigious 2016 Asia Artist Awards. Aside from her, South Korean superstar Park Bo Gum and Kpop group EXO have was also given the same title.
"Firstly, I want to thank all the fans who love Hallyu across Asia. I'll continuously try to repay this 'Asia Star Award'. Thank you," said the Girls’ Generation member during her speech as quoted by All Kpop.
